Events & Challenges
Northern Ireland Cancer Fund for Children has a date for your diary and something to look forward to in Summer 2012! The challenge is to climb the highest peak in Northern Ireland, Slieve Donard on Sunday 26th August 2012. The climb has a well worn route and offers stunning views - all to raise money for local children and young people living with cancer!
The walk is approximately 5.5 miles, climbing to a height of 2550 ft and on a clear day you will take in breathtaking views as far afield as Scrabo Tower, the Wicklow Hills, Isle of Man and even Scotland!
The walk will start at 9.00am from the Donard Car Park and will take you towards Commedagh Mountain, then along the Mourne Wall to achieve the ultimate goal of reaching the summit of Slieve Donard. Afterwards participants can celebrate their achievement with a barbeque and everyone will receive a personalised Certificate of Appreciation.
Registration for this event is £20 per person, and we are asking participants to raise a minimum sponsorship of £80.
