Presents for Pounds
December is Children’s Cancer Awareness Month, and at Christmas, we are asking nurseries and primary schools to raise vital funds to support children living with cancer by participating in our Presents for £s Appeal.
Instead of pupils buying teachers and staff presents, why not suggest they make a donation to NICFC?
We will provide your school with:
- Posters to highlight the Appeal
- NICFC donation envelope for each pupil
- Letter explaining Presents for £s to parents
Elaine Hutton from Noah’s Ark Playgroup, Lurgan explains why they decided to support the Appeal,
“When I first read about the Presents for £s Appeal, I knew we had to be involved. Christmas is a time of giving and what better gift, than to help local children and their families, who are living with cancer? We work with children every day and we are all mothers, so we can perhaps begin to understand how devastating it must be, to be told that your child has cancer.”
The Presents for £s Appeal will support NICFC’s Home Heating scheme, a financial grant to help parents nursing a child with cancer meet the cost of keeping the family home at a constantly warm temperature, whilst their child’s immune system is suppressed during treatment. A costly expense particularly during the harsh winter months.
