Does your brother or sister have cancer?
How NICFC can help
Understanding
When your brother or sister is diagnosed with cancer, life at home can often change as your parents or carers will have to spend alot of time at the hospital. You will also have your own fears and anxieties about your sibling’s illness and are maybe unsure who to talk to.
One to One Support
Similar to the services offered to children and young people who themselves have been diagnosed with cancer; NICFC provides one-to-one and group support to brothers and sisters too. The Sibling Programme helps you come to terms with the changes in your family and develop ways to cope.
Residentials
Siblings can attend residential weekends at Narnia to meet others in a similar situation, as well as receiving one-one-support from the Youth Team at home or in the local community. Activities are also broken down into three main groups, KACTUS, TACT and 18+.
