Is it a bird? Is it a plane? No, it’s a Man from Magherafelt!

Jamie Johnston (pictured on the left) recently went all out to raise funds for NICFC by taking on two back-to-back fundraising adventures. On the 27th August, Jamie took to the skies and completed an exhilarating skydive from 13,000ft with Moonjumpers, Garvagh. Then as if that wasn’t enough, the Magherafelt man hopped on his bike the very next day to take part in Lap the Lough on the 28th August. The 82 mile challenge topped off Jamie’s super weekend of fundraising, bringing in a cool £1,570.17 for the charity.

Speaking after his fundraising endeavours, Jamie said, “I wanted to do something out of the ordinary to raise funds, and I’ve always wanted to skydive. I’m just glad that I chose to skydive before Lap the Lough – I’m not sure I could have jumped out of the plane with aching legs and arms! I really wanted to support a local charity, and I believe the work that NICFC do in the local area is fantastic.

Regional Fundraiser, Sorcha Chipperfield said, “It’s great to hear from people who are finding new ways and time to raise money for the charity. Thank you so much to Jamie for completing such an innovative challenge and raising a fantastic amount. Thanks also to Moonjumpers in Garvagh for pointing him in our direction.
