Sibling Support

To compliment our KACTUS, TACT and the 18+ youth groups in September 2006 we launched a new and exciting Sibling Support Programme. With part-funding from The Big Lottery, we have designed a programme of activities for brothers and sisters who are living with and affected by cancer.

A range of life skills residentials and social events allow the brothers and sisters of kids with cancer to meet others in similar circumstances, to relax and to make new friends.
One teenage sister of a young boy who was diagnosed with cancer at the age of 8 told us how she tried to keep her life normal…

I tried to be normal at school and normal at home and it was only when I met other siblings through an event with the TACT programme that I realised I could release the pressure and that my life wasn’t normal but I had to work very hard to make it look normal.
