Is this challenge for me?

ABSOLUTELY!! This challenge is suitable for people of all ages (minimum 14 years old, under 16years must be accompanied by an adult). The one thing everyone will have in common is a great sense of adventure and the desire to help their favourite charity.

How long will the walk be?

On average the climb will take 5 hours, 3 hours up and 2 hours down.

How fit do have to be?

This is a medium challenge and participants should have a good level of fitness and also have some experience of walking long distances.

What kit will I need on the day?

All participants must wear / bring the following items with them:

  • walking boots with good ankle supports
  • rucksack
  • waterproof trousers and jacket
  • hat and gloves
  • warm jumpers
  • flexible walking trousers (e.g. – tracksuit bottoms – NO JEANS)
  • sun cream and cap (we can always hope)
  • water to drink
  • lunch and snacks

* This list must be adhered to in order to ensure the safety of participants as they complete the climb.

What sort of back-up is there?

Marshals and guides will be available along the length of the route. As this is a medium challenge, all participants should have a good level of fitness and marshals will act to accommodate different fitness levels to ensure participants get the most out of their climbing experience.

Is there an entry fee?

We are asking participants for a registration fee of £20.

How much sponsorship do I have to raise?

We ask each participant to raise a minimum of £80 sponsorship and would encourage participants to try and raise as much as possible to help children with cancer.

When will I recieve my sponsorship form?

When you register we will send you a sponsorship form.

What do I get for taking part?

All participants will receive a certificate in recognition of their achievement in taking part in the walk. A BBQ and refreshments will be provided on completion of the climb.
